Meridiana, the privately owned Italian airline has announced a new service to the United States.
The airline based in the north eastern city of Olbia will commence a twice weekly service to Miami from the 2nd of December 2016.
Meridiana will employ a Boeing 767-300 aircraft to fly from Milan Malpensa Airport to Miami International Airport. It will be the second airline to offer a direct service between the two cities after American Airlines.
Alitalia also flies from Miami International Airport but to Rome.
Miami International Airport serves over 275,000 to and from Italy every year.
